Dear Galaxy Developer,

where is the "history/workflow" file stored in the local machine?
I mean the real file store in the disk instead of browser access.

Thanks and Best regards

Re: Dear Galaxy Developer, where is the "history/workflow" file stored in the local machine?

Hello,

The simplest way to get access to a history or workflow in file format
is to download from the UI. This creates an output file that can be
archived and/or loaded into other Galaxy instances. However, if you want
to explore the data itself, then you will want to look in the database
associated with your Galaxy instance.

This database contains the tables that link groups of tools/data
associated with workflows and histories.

If you have a basic install following these instructions, then your data
is organized using the "Basic Configuration" with a SQLite database:
http://wiki.g2.bx.psu.edu/Admin/Get%20Galaxy

If you have upgraded to a "Production server", then your database is
likely an alternative, such as PostgreSQL:
http://wiki.g2.bx.psu.edu/Admin/Config/Performance/Production%20Server

The general architecture is explained here:
http://wiki.g2.bx.psu.edu/Admin/Internals/Implementation%20Info

The "Data Model" of the database is in this wiki:
http://wiki.g2.bx.psu.edu/DataModel

Next time, please only send questions to one of our mailing lists (one
question, one list). For this case, the galaxy-dev list was the best choice.

The development community is welcomed to add in more comments/detail to
this thread.

Best,
