changing usage indicator

Nikhil Joshi-2
Hi all,

Is there a way to change the "Using" indicator at the top right to be a Using/Total for the whole disk (not just Galaxy usage)?

There is no simple config switch or anything for this - you would need
to modify Galaxy in a non-trivial manner to implement this. Let me
know if you are interested in doing that and I can try to outline how
to modify Galaxy to that.

Hi John,

So I figured out a hacky way to do it, but it might be better to code it a little better. :)  I basically just had nice_total_disk_usage return "used / total" (which I got from running df as a subprocess), which worked, but still feels hacky. So I'd certainly be interested in a better solution.

Also this hack only seems to work for users who are logged in, but it would be nice for it to work for anyone, logged in or not.
